Teen Workforce Initiative (TWI)

Who We Are

The Teen Workforce Initiative is a collaboration between St. Joseph the Worker and Dress for Success Phoenix to help teens and young adults become employable and employed so that they never fall into the troubling demographic of unemployed young adults. Together, we go into high schools, colleges and other locations where young people are served, meeting them where they are already comfortable and giving them access to resources that have been proven to ensure they maintain employment.

How We Help

The TWI empowerment program includes an interactive, informational workshop around confidence, personal presentation, verbal and nonverbal communication, job interviews and follow up. The workshop ends with the participants receiving interview-appropriate clothing for the job to which they are applying, and that empower them to feel good about themselves as they meet with employers. We also provide young adults and teens with direct connections to open jobs and the following tangible resources necessary to help them find and keep employment.

  • One-on-One Employment Coaching
  • Transportation assistance
  • Safety Equipment
  • Required Work Shoes or Boots
  • Select Certification Fees
  • Uniform Assistance
  • Resume Support
  • Basic Tools
  • Interview Preparation
  • Food Handler License
