Volunteer Opportunities

There are many opportunities to volunteer with St. Joseph the Worker. Whether you are interested in a long-term commitment or a one-time activity, whether you are an individual or a group, St. Joseph the Worker is a great place to contribute your talents.

Volunteer roles vary from working directly with clients as a practice interviewer or Job/Life Skills class instructor to program support work such as writing resumes or sorting donations in the clothing closet. Below is a sample of volunteer needs.

Please call Blue Swadener at 602-417-9854 or e-mail bswadener@sjwjobs.org if you are interested in volunteering!

In Memoriam

Pat Noonan, 19-year volunteer
Pat Noonan, 10/18/1926 – 9/16/2007

In September , St. Joseph the Worker was deeply saddened by the passing of our most long-standing volunteer, Pat Noonan. Since St. Joseph the Worker’s inception 19 years ago, Pat has been a regular part of the team, registering clients and staffing the front desk every Tuesday. Pat was passionate about St. Joseph the Worker’s mission and kept clients and staff on their toes at all times. We will miss Pat deeply but are comforted by the certainty that Pat’s life was full…full of love, people, activity and plenty of mischievous fun. Our thoughts and prayers are with Pat’s wife Nancy, his ten children and 16 grandchildren (and the two more on the way). The entire St. Joseph the Worker organization is grateful for Pat’s gift of friendship and service.

Click below if you would like to make a contribution in Pat Noonan's name (please mention Pat's name in the "Comments" field).
