Volunteer Opportunities
There are many opportunities to volunteer with St. Joseph the Worker. Whether you are interested in a long-term commitment or a one-time activity, whether you are an individual or a group, St. Joseph the Worker is a great place to contribute your talents.
Group opportunities:
Looking for a group project? Our Partnerships offers a variety of ways for groups to be involved and contribute to helping the homeless all year long.
Individual opportunities:
Volunteers are needed to help individuals succeed in obtaining employment both at our home office On-Campus and at Off-Campus partner sites.
On-Campus: 1125 W. Jackson, Phoenix

Times: 7:30-11:00 or 12:30-4:00
Off-Campus: Locations throughout the Valley
Days: Mon-Fri
Times: Flexible by location
1. Resume Writer/Computer Assistance (Direct Client, On-Campus, Off-Campus)
Aid a successful job search by creating and editing resumes, cover letters, and by helping clients search for jobs online, assist in filling out online applications and/or assist with set-up of e-mail accounts and Community Voicemail.
2. Workshop Instructor (Direct Client, On-Campus, Off-Campus)
Job Readiness Workshop topics include attitude, applications, resumes and interviews. Job Searching in the 21st Century topics include basic computer support, online job searching, email, and using the internet.
3. Front Desk (Direct Client, On-Campus Only)
Responsible for assisting in directing all office activity. The Front Desk is often the first point of contact between St. Joseph the Worker and the public and as such should remain professional and have strong customer service skills.
4. Clothing Closet (On-Campus Only)
Help prepare clients for job searching by sorting donations, and providing a clean, organized closet containing only employment-appropriate clothing in an accessible display.
5. Administrative Support (On-Campus Only)
Help with basic office tasks such as copying, filing, data entry, running errands such as going to the post office or office supply store, organizing, stocking and other general support.
Volunteer Requirements: Must be 18+, preferable HR experience or Business background. Direct Client requires 6-12 month commitment.
