Executive Director

Amy Caffarello
Amy Caffarello joined St. Joseph the Worker as Executive Director in March, 2006. Amy has worked in the local non-profit community for more than ten years and is an Arizona native. Her passion for serving our community, especially our most vulnerable members, is among the assets she brings to St. Joseph the Worker. Amy's non-profit experience includes development, finance, operational and programmatic management. Amy gained her interest and understanding of the issues of homelessness while working for HomeBase Youth Services, a local organization serving homeless youth, as well as through participation in local committees and task forces dedicated to ending homelessness.

Development Specialist

Molly

Molly has been a part of the St. Joseph the Worker team since 2004, first serving at the front desk as the Client Facilitator and now as the Development Specialist, focusing on fundraising through grant writing and donor relations. After graduating from Arizona State University with Bachelor of Art in Photojournalism, Molly realized she wanted to pursue work in the social service arena where she could utilize her administration skills to help those in need.

Special Events and Outreach Coordinator

Blue
Blue joined the St. Joseph the Worker team in 2006, serving as the Client Facilitator, then as a Job Developer and currently as the Special Events and Outreach Coordinator, a new position at St. Joseph the Worker and one which Blue has enjoyed creating along the way. Blue is responsible for the agency's fundraising events, newsletter, coordination of giving drives, volunteer program and generally letting the community know about St. Joseph the Worker. Blue has a degree in Justice Studies from Arizona State University and over 8 years of experience with non-profits and community organizing.

Program Manager

Nina

Nina serves as the Program Manager. She came to St. Joseph the Worker in 2007 bringing together her experience in non-profit service work and contemplative management. Nina obtained her Bachelor of Art in Anthropology from the University of Arizona, where she was involved in student organizations that formed her connection to the non-profit world. Nina earned a Master of Arts in Engaged Buddhism at Naropa University where she also completed a joint internship through National Prison Hospice Association and Prison Dharma Network, eventually working as a Case Manager through a county community corrections program in Denver, Colorado. As a case manager, she managed a caseload of high supervision felony offenders as well as teaching classes on life skills and addiction/recovery issues to inmates of this facility.


Job Developers

Cortney
Cortney serves as a Job Developer with St. Joseph the Worker, helping clients to secure employment through individualized support. Cortney graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Art in Religious Studies. Her experience in serving the homeless population includes volunteering at the Los Angeles Catholic Worker's soup kitchen and through employment with the Kyrene School District, where she worked with homeless and refugee families. Cortney has a passion for social justice which took root in college. She served as a leader of the Newman Center's Social Justice Ministry program. Cortney hopes to continue to fulfill her call to social justice through her work at St. Joseph the Worker.

Patrick

Patrick, also serving as a Job Developer, has over 3 years in the behavioral health field specializing in substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. Patrick lends over 15 years of management experience in various large and small companies. Patrick obtained his Associates Degree from Paradise Valley Community College and is continuing his education in the human services field. Patrick also currently serves on several behavioral health fundraising committees. His special interest is assisting those who are experiencing homeless achieve obtainable goals in order to change their lives.

Lisa
Lisa serves as a Job Developer. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Arizona and has worked in the mental health field. Lisa is currently working on her Master of Science in Community Counseling. She is a Phoenix native and enjoys the opportunity to work with people, assisting them with difficult transitions and times in their lives. Lisa has this to say about her job: "I'm fortunate to have a job where I get to come to work everyday and learn a wealth of knowledge from the experiences of the client's I interact with."

Client Facilitator

Eric

Eric joined St. Joseph the Worker in August 2009 as part of his volunteer placement in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps, a one-year service program centered on faith and social justice. He serves as the Client Facilitator and introduces new clients to St. Joseph the Worker's services. He recently graduated from Boston College with a Bachelor of Art Degree in Philosophy and plans to continue to work with the homeless population once he completes his placement at St. Joseph the Worker.

Office Manager

Beth

Beth, St. Joseph the Worker's Office Manager, brings over 20 years of business management and customer service experience, coupled with a strong passion for empowering support for the homeless population. Beth is in the process of completing her AOS degree in Transformational Psychology. She is committed to integrity, professionalism, service and supporting local community groups such as VSUW's Project Homeless Connect. Her philosophy is: "Greatness knows no boundaries."
